About the Event

With one $275 ticket, you are purchasing two individual sessions for this two-part class. Sessions are held on May 17 and 24. Classes run 6-8:30pm on both dates.

This is a great place to begin your metalsmithing journey! Design a pendant in copper. Learn how to cut out shapes from sheet metal with a jeweler's saw. Add hammered textures, patina, and/or metal stamp patterns to your piece. Professionally finish your work so that it can be comfortably worn.

You will become familiar with essential metalsmithing tools. All materials and tool usage are included. (There are no torches in this class.) Classes are intentionally kept small to ensure students enjoy individualized attention and encouragement.

Instructor Rachel Morgan Kalina has been creating The Wood & Watch jewelry since 2007. She’s taught students at The Art League of Long Island, Firefly, Socrates Sculpture Park, Nest on Main, and elsewhere. Rachel prides herself on crafting a welcoming atmosphere for students, and she looks forward to working with you, too!

Please note, classes are for adults ages 18 and older (no exceptions). Classes must be paid in full prior to attendance, and there are no refunds. If you are unable to make a class, please email thewoodandwatch@gmail.com to see if a transfer may be possible to a different class.

For safety purposes, please wear closed-toe shoes to class. Avoid loose clothing. Bring a tie for long hair.
